Terms of Business

This Terms of Business document explains how Business Lending Ltd operates, the services we provide and the responsibilities of both Business Lending Ltd and our customers. It forms the basis of our relationship with you and should be read carefully before you use our services.

Who We Are

Business Lending Ltd is a credit broker and is an Appointed Representative of Consumer Credit Compliance Ltd, whose registered office is Windsor House, Cornwall Road, Harrogate, HG1 2PW, England.

Consumer Credit Compliance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under Firm Reference Number 631736.

As a credit broker, we introduce customers to a carefully selected panel of UK lenders. We do not lend money directly or make lending decisions.

Please note that some business finance products may fall outside the scope of regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority.

What We Do

Business Lending Ltd helps businesses and individuals access suitable finance solutions through our network of trusted UK lenders.

Depending on your circumstances and eligibility, we may introduce you to lenders offering products such as:

  • Business Loans
  • Personal Loans
  • Homeowner Loans
  • Debt Consolidation Loans
  • Bad Credit Loans
  • Car Finance

Our role is to understand your funding requirements, compare suitable lending options and introduce you to lenders whose products best meet your needs.

We are not tied to any single lender. Depending on your circumstances, we may approach one lender, several lenders or our wider lending panel in order to identify appropriate funding solutions.

Advice and Recommendations

Business Lending Ltd does not provide independent financial, legal, tax or accounting advice.

Any guidance provided by our team is based solely on the information you supply during your enquiry or application. It is therefore essential that all information provided is complete, accurate and up to date.

We will explain the finance products that may be available to you and provide information to help you understand your options. However, the final decision to enter into any finance agreement remains entirely yours.

Approval for finance is always subject to the lender’s eligibility criteria, underwriting process and terms and conditions. Submitting an application does not guarantee that finance will be offered.

We encourage customers to carefully consider all available funding options before entering into any credit agreement.

Your Responsibilities

When applying for finance through Business Lending Ltd, you agree to:

  • Provide complete, accurate and truthful information.
  • Notify us of any significant changes to your circumstances during the application process.
  • Ensure that all supporting documentation supplied is genuine and accurate.
  • Carefully review any finance agreement before accepting it.

Providing false or misleading information may result in your application being declined or withdrawn and could affect future applications for credit.

Before entering into any agreement, you should ensure that you are able to comfortably meet all repayment obligations throughout the term of the finance.spam detection service.

Our Fees and Commission

Business Lending Ltd does not charge customers a fee for introducing them to a lender or for arranging finance through our services, unless expressly agreed in writing before any work is undertaken.

When a finance agreement is successfully completed, we may receive a commission from the lender. The amount of commission can vary depending on a number of factors, including the lender, the type of finance product, the value of the agreement and other commercially permitted arrangements.

Any commission arrangement that is relevant to your finance agreement will be disclosed to you before you enter into a legally binding credit agreement. Where required by regulation, we will also provide details of the amount of commission upon request and obtain your consent before proceeding.

Our remuneration does not affect the amount you are required to repay under your finance agreement unless clearly stated by the lender.

If you have any questions regarding how we are paid or how we select lenders, our team will be happy to provide further information.

Responsible Borrowing

Business Lending Ltd is committed to promoting responsible lending and helping customers make informed financial decisions.

Before entering into any finance agreement, you should carefully consider whether the borrowing is appropriate for your financial circumstances and whether you will be able to maintain the required repayments throughout the term of the agreement.

We encourage all customers to:

  • Borrow only what they need.
  • Carefully review all finance documentation.
  • Consider the total cost of borrowing, not just the monthly payment.
  • Ask questions if any aspect of the agreement is unclear.
  • Seek independent financial advice where appropriate.

Failure to maintain repayments may adversely affect your credit rating and could make it more difficult or more expensive to obtain credit in the future.

Suitability and Customer Support

We recognise that every customer has different financial circumstances and support requirements.

If you have a disability, a physical or mental health condition, have recently experienced significant life events or believe you may require additional assistance during the application process, please let us know.

Our team will always make reasonable efforts to provide information in a clear and accessible manner, allowing you sufficient time to understand the finance options available before making a decision.

We encourage all customers to review any finance agreement carefully and ensure that the product selected is suitable for their needs, objectives and financial situation.

Documentation

If your application is successful, your chosen lender will provide you with all relevant pre-contractual information together with the finance agreement and any applicable terms and conditions.

These documents will include important information such as:

  • The amount borrowed.
  • Interest rates and charges.
  • Repayment schedule.
  • Fees, where applicable.
  • Your rights and obligations.
  • Any cancellation or withdrawal rights available under applicable legislation.

You should read all documentation carefully before signing any agreement. If anything is unclear, you should contact either Business Lending Ltd or the lender for further clarification before proceeding.

Where regulated consumer credit agreements apply, you may have statutory rights to withdraw from the agreement within the period specified by law. Full details will be provided by the lender before the agreement is completed.

Data Protection

Business Lending Ltd is committed to protecting your personal information and processing your data in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We collect, use and store personal information only for legitimate business purposes, including processing finance enquiries, introducing customers to lenders, complying with legal obligations and improving our services.

As part of your application, your information may be shared with our panel of lenders and, where necessary, Credit Reference Agencies and Fraud Prevention Agencies to:

  • Verify your identity.
  • Assess your creditworthiness.
  • Prevent fraud and financial crime.
  • Evaluate the suitability of finance products.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Credit searches carried out by lenders or Credit Reference Agencies may leave a record on your credit file.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil legal, regulatory and business requirements.

For further information about how we process your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering

Business Lending Ltd is committed to preventing fraud, money laundering and other forms of financial crime.

To comply with applicable legislation, we may ask customers to provide documentation confirming their identity, address and, where appropriate, information relating to their business or beneficial ownership.

Electronic identity verification and anti-money laundering checks may also be carried out during the application process.

Where we reasonably suspect fraud or criminal activity, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate an application and may share relevant information with authorised agencies or regulatory bodies where required by law.

Providing false or misleading information may result in your application being declined and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Our Commitment to Customers

At Business Lending Ltd, we are committed to delivering a professional, transparent and customer-focused service at every stage of your journey.

We aim to:

  • Treat every customer fairly and with respect.
  • Provide clear, accurate and easy-to-understand information.
  • Help you understand the finance options available.
  • Offer a straightforward and efficient application process.
  • Support customers who may require additional assistance.
  • Act honestly, responsibly and in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

Our objective is to help you make informed financial decisions while ensuring that our services deliver positive outcomes for our customers.

Complaints

We strive to provide the highest standards of customer service. However, if you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to let us know so that we can investigate your concerns promptly and fairly.

We aim to acknowledge complaints as quickly as possible and will keep you informed throughout our investigation.

Where possible, we will seek to resolve your complaint promptly. If additional time is required, we will explain the reason for the delay and provide updates until our investigation is complete.

If your complaint relates to a regulated activity and you remain dissatisfied after receiving our final response, you may have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, where applicable.

Further information about our complaints process can be found in our Complaints Procedure.
